Job summary

Orion Placement seeks an experienced accounting professional to support the Controller across a growing multi-entity organization in Euless, TX. You will help manage GL, close processes, financial reporting, and controls, partnering with operations to drive sound financial decisions.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of accounting, a Bachelor's in a related field, and strong GAAP knowledge with advanced Excel skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant accounting experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis).
• CPA, progress toward CPA, public accounting, or leadership experience is a plus.
• Willingness to travel occasionally as business needs require.

Responsibilities

• Support the Controller with day to day accounting operations across a growing multi entity organization.
• Manage general ledger activities and lead month end and year end close processes.
• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
• Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with GAAP and internal standards.
• Prepare internal and external financial reporting for leadership and stakeholders.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and processes.
• Assist with annual audits and provide documentation for auditors.
• Partner with operations and cross functional teams to provide financial insights.
• Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and related functions.
• Help improve accounting processes and systems as the organization grows.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year

Location: This role is primarily on-site in Euless, TX, offering close partnership with leadership and the broader team. There may be an opportunity for limited hybrid flexibility over time once established in the role, although the position will remain primarily office based. Occasional travel, generally 1 to 2 trips per month as needed, is expected.

Note: Candidates should bring 3+ years of accounting experience along with strong attention to detail, ownership and initiative, and the ability to work effectively across functions. A strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and advanced Excel skills is important for success in this role.

• Support and guide accounting activities involving accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and related functions
• Help improve accounting processes and systems as the organization continues to grow

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant accounting experience
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and data analysis
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing deadlines
• Demonstrated ownership, initiative, and independent judgment
• Strong communication and cross functional collaboration skills
• Experience with construction, restoration, field services, or percentage of completion accounting is preferred
• NetSuite experience is preferred
• Multi entity accounting experience is preferred
• CPA, progress toward CPA, public accounting, or leadership experience is a plus
• Willingness to travel occasionally as business needs require
