Job summary

Kentucky Blood Center in Lexington, KY seeks a Senior Accountant to oversee A/P, A/R, billing, payroll administration and financial reporting. This role supports CFO and coordinates with audits, budgeting, and internal controls while ensuring compliance and timely processing.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in accounting (CPA a plus), at least 3 years' experience, strong Excel/ADP skills, and the ability to work under deadlines with discretion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related major; CPA a plus.
• Minimum of 3 years in a similar accounting role.
• Advanced MS Office and Excel; data entry proficiency.
• Experience with accounting and payroll applications; ADP preferred.
• Strong analytical, confidential, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with deadlines.
• Occasional evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Fulfills A/P duties, ensuring timely and accurate invoice payment and employee reimbursement; maintains vendor profile information and ledger account entries.
• Manages A/R processes including billing, bank deposits, customer payment postings, and ledger account entries.
• Primary ADP payroll and timekeeping administrator, including biweekly processing and HRIS data entry and journal entries.
• Maintains fixed asset purchase and disposal records and depreciation schedules in accounting system, providing related journal entries.
• Responsible for administration of the organization’s corporate card program.
• Supports CFO with periodic financial statements, audits, inventory and account reconciliation.
• Complies with payroll and financial regulations, and stays current on industry best practices.
• Fulfills other duties and participates in special projects as assigned.
