Responsibilities

• Monitor collections, vendor payments, cash activity, and accounting issues.
• Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting processes.
• Provide coaching, guidance, and workload management for accounting staff.
• Work with internal departments and external auditors or other third parties as needed.
• Support preparation and review of accounting materials provided to the parent company in Japan.

Salary: Approximately $75,000/year, depending on experience

Schedule: Typically 9:00 AM-5:00 PM, with flexible start time between 8:30-9:30 AM

Position Overview

A growing retail/consumer products company in Irving, TX is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee AP and AR operations and supervise a team of three accounting staff.

This is a hands‑on, working manager role that combines team supervision with day‑to‑day accounting responsibilities, including month‑end close, reconciliations, financial reporting, and operational support.

This opportunity may be a strong fit for an experienced Senior Accountant, Accounting Supervisor, Assistant Accounting Manager, or Accounting Manager who is ready to take on broader team leadership responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee AP and AR activities and review the work of three accounting staff.
• Support month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close.
• Prepare and review reconciliations, schedules, and financial reporting.
• Monitor collections, vendor payments, cash activity, and accounting issues.
• Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting processes.
• Provide coaching, guidance, and workload management for accounting staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of progressive hands‑on accounting experience.
• Experience with AP, AR, general ledger, reconciliations, and month‑end close.
• Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• Experience supervising, leading, training, or reviewing accounting staff is preferred.
• Strong Excel and ERP/accounting system experience.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work on‑site five days per week in Irving, TX.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as a Senior Accountant, Accounting Supervisor, Assistant Accounting Manager, Accounting Manager, or similar role.
• CPA or CPA candidate is a plus.
• Japanese language skills are a plus but not required.
• Experience in retail, consumer products, wholesale/distribution, or a high‑volume transaction environment is a plus.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or a comparable ERP is a plus.

Additional Information

This is a fully on‑site position in Irving, TX. Some additional hours may be required during month‑end close, generally around 10 hours per month.
