Location: New York, NY (Hybrid, 1–3 days/week onsite)

The Opportunity

We’re partnering with a fast-growing company in search of a Senior Accountant with a strong background in accounts receivable and billing operations. If you thrive on precision, process optimization, and cross-functional collaboration, this role is your chance to take ownership of critical finance functions that directly impact cash flow and revenue visibility.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead the full-cycle AR and billing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Analyze AR aging reports, oversee collection efforts, and update leadership on outstanding balances
• Implement strategies to streamline collections and improve DSO metrics
• Identify gaps and drive continuous improvements in billing operations
• Manage and support a small offshore billing team (approx. 2 staff)

Revenue Recognition & Reporting

• Apply ASC 606 standards to revenue recognition practices
• Ensure all revenue-related activities align with accounting regulations
• Prepare and post revenue journal entries each month
• Reconcile revenue and AR accounts, including Stripe payout data
• Support internal and external audits with clear documentation

Month-End Close & Process Ownership

• Drive accurate and timely close activities for AR and billing
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to enhance billing workflows and system efficiency
• Provide insight into revenue trends and collections performance

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar field
• CPA or related credential is a plus
• 5+ years of experience in AR, billing, or accounting functions
• Familiarity with Maxio, Xero, Salesforce, or other modern billing platforms
• Strong understanding of ASC 606 and financial reporting practices
• Proven ability to manage deadlines, prioritize tasks, and work independently
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
• Hybrid model: 1–3 days/week in the NYC office, based on your location and team needs
