Job summary

CFS in Wooster, Ohio is seeking a Senior Accountant to strengthen financial reporting, operational analysis, and process improvements across the business. You will partner with leadership to influence key financial and operational decisions while supporting month-end close and accuracy of GAAP-compliant reporting.

This role offers broad exposure to multiple lines of business, inventory accounting, budgeting, forecasting, KPI reporting, and opportunities to drive automation and ERP optimization

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience with strong GAAP knowledge.
• Experience in distribution, energy, transportation, manufacturing, logistics, or related industries preferred.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, Power Query, and financial modeling.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports while supporting month-end and year-end close activities
• Analyze financial performance, investigate variances, and provide meaningful insights to management
• Support inventory accounting, operational reporting, and margin analysis across multiple business lines
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, KPI reporting, and financial modeling initiatives
• Support audit, compliance, and internal control processes while ensuring adherence to GAAP
• Drive process improvements, ERP optimization, and reporting automation projects
