We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Senior Accountant to play a key role in our accounting and financial close processes. This position will be deeply involved in the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close, with primary responsibility for several significant balance sheet areas, including fixed assets, capital leases and related debt, and inventory.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting fundamentals with a continuous-improvement mindset. We are looking for someone who not only ensures that accounting is accurate, timely, and well controlled, but also looks for opportunities to leverage technology, improve workflows, and automate repetitive processes without compromising the integrity of our internal control environment.

This is a hands‑on role with significant ownership and visibility and provides an excellent opportunity for a motivated accounting professional to broaden their experience and contribute to the continued development of the accounting function.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, roll‑forwards, and support schedules.
  • Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations and investigate and resolve reconciling items on a timely basis.
  • Perform analytical reviews of account activity and period‑over‑period fluctuations, identifying unusual transactions, trends, or potential errors.

  • Maintain accurate fixed asset records and ensure appropriate classification, useful lives, capitalization, and depreciation in accordance with company policy and applicable accounting standards.
  • Coordinate with operational and financial stakeholders to ensure capital expenditures are properly recorded and supported.
  • Manage the accounting and reconciliation of capital/finance leases and related debt obligations, including principal, interest, amortization, and balance sheet classifications.
  • Maintain supporting schedules and ensure activity is reconciled to the general ledger each reporting period.
  • Assist with accounting analysis for new lease, financing, or capital transactions as needed.
Inventory Accounting
  • Manage and reconcile inventory‑related general ledger accounts and supporting records.
  • Analyze inventory activity, adjustments, reserves, and other inventory‑related transactions for completeness and accuracy.
  • Partner with operations and other departments to investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Support the development and maintenance of effective controls over inventory accounting and reporting.
Process Improvement, Technology & Internal Controls
  • Proactively identify opportunities to automate manual accounting processes, improve data flows, and reduce repetitive work.
  • Leverage ERP functionality, reporting tools, spreadsheets, data analytics, and other technologies to improve the efficiency and accuracy of accounting processes.
  • Maintain a strong internal‑control mindset when identifying opportunities to modify processes, ensuring that increased automation and efficiency do not compromise appropriate review, segregation of duties, documentation, or accountability.
  • Assist with documenting accounting processes, policies, procedures, and key controls.
  • Support external audits by preparing schedules, providing supporting documentation, and responding to auditor requests.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Business Office personnel and/or other departments to resolve accounting issues and improve the quality and timeliness of financial information.
