Job summary

Legends Global in Glen Allen, VA seeks a Senior Accountant to serve as the lead accounting resource for the Henrico Sports & Events Center. You will own day-to-day accounting, month-end close, and financial reporting, partnering with leadership to analyze performance and strengthen processes.

The role requires 5+ years in accounting, GAAP expertise, and supervisory experience in a fast-paced environment. Compensation includes a comprehensive benefits package and a competitive salary range.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of progressive accounting experience to include public and/or private
• Strong general ledger and month-end close experience
• Experience with financial statements, account reconciliations, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred
• CPA or other professional accounting designation
• Govt accounting or GASB experience
• Supervisory or accounting team leadership experience
• Sports, entertainment, hospitality, venue, nonprofit, or event-industry experience
• External audit experience
• Strong knowledge of GAAP
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead accounting resource for the facility and oversee day-to-day accounting operations
• Lead the monthly financial close process and ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end activities
• Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, adjusting entries, and general ledger activity
• Prepare and review bank reconciliations and balance sheet account reconciliations
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, inventory, and other accounting functions
• Prepare monthly financial statements, forecasts, budget-to-actual reports, and supporting schedules
• Analyze financial results and explain significant variances and trends
• Maintain accurate supporting documentation for financial transactions, reconciliations, and journal entries
• Coordinate annual external audit materials and work directly with external auditors
• Establish and maintain effective accounting procedures and internal controls
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and efficiency
• Provide leadership, training, review, and support to accounting staff
• Partner with the General Manager and Regional Finance Team on financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis
• Provide hands-on support and backup to accounting staff as needed
• Perform other accounting and financial responsibilities as assigned

THE ROLE Legends Global is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to serve as the lead accounting resource for the Henrico Sports & Events Center.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead accounting resource for the facility and oversee day-to-day accounting operations

Supervisory Responsibilities

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with all Legends Global policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
