Job summary

Legends Global, located in North Charleston, SC, seeks a Staff Accountant to bolster the Finance team with daily accounting, month-end close, reconciliations, and journal entries. This on-site role reports to the Director of Finance and supports A/R/A/P activities and GL analysis.

The ideal candidate holds a B.S. in Accounting or Finance with 1–3 years of public accounting or finance experience and demonstrates strongmath, communication, and software skills in a fast-paced live-events

Qualifications

• B.S. in Accounting or Finance from a four-year college or university.
• 1–3 years’ experience in public accounting and/or finance.
• Proficient with accounting software, spreadsheets, and word processing tools.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily accounting tasks and assists Finance Director with month-end close.
• Reconciles A/R and A/P control accounts and performs bank reconciliations.
• Supports in journal entries and general ledger analysis.
• Assists in development and maintenance of internal controls and procedures.
• Reviews financial statements with management as needed.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Performs the daily activities of the accounting function at the facility and assists the Finance Director by performing the following duties
• Reconciles A/R and A/P control accounts to detail aging.
• Performs Bank Reconciliations
• Assists in monthly closing and inputs/imports journal entries associated with End of Month.
• Assists A/R and A/P clerks with coding of receipts and disbursements into the general ledger.
• Performs account analysis on general ledger accounts as directed.
• Creates settlements for all tenant hockey team home games.
• Create settlements for all tenant NC POPS! Performances.
• Performs any other functions delegated by Finance Director, including assisting in the development of control processes and procedures.
• Reviews of financial statements with management personnel.
• Directs the installation and maintenance of new accounting, timekeeping, payroll, inventory, property, and other related procedures and controls.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but may provide functional guidance and training to accounting support staff as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

• B. S. in Accounting or Finance from a four-year college or university.
• At least 1 to 3 years’ experience in public accounting and/or finance

Skills And Abilities

• Extensive knowledge of general and cost accounting
• Excellent math skills; high aptitude for figures
• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and organizational ability
• Ability to work with and maintain highly confidential information is required.
• Effective supervisory skills.
• Extensive knowledge of accounting software, spreadsheets, and word processing software.
