Job summary

Legends Global is seeking a Senior Accountant to lead the Henrico Sports & Events Center's accounting function. You will own the month-end close, prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements, and partner with leadership on budgeting and analysis.

The role requires strong GAAP knowledge, public/private accounting experience, and the ability to supervise accounting staff while improving processes.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of progressive accounting experience, public or private.
• Experience with financial statements, account reconciliations, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• CPA or other professional designation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day accounting operations for the facility.
• Own the monthly close process and ensure timely close.
• Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and GL activity.
• Manage bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Oversee AP, AR, payroll, and inventory functions.

If you're looking for a role where your accounting experience, judgment, and ideas are valued—and where you can take ownership rather than simply process transactions—we'd like to hear from you. **Essential Duties & Responsibilities*** Serve as the lead accounting resource for the facility and oversee day-to-day accounting operations* Lead the monthly financial close process and ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end activities* Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, adjusting entries, and general ledger activity* Prepare and review bank reconciliations and balance sheet account reconciliations* Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, inventory, and other accounting functions* Prepare monthly financial statements, forecasts, budget-to-actual reports, and supporting schedules* Analyze financial results and explain significant variances and trends* Maintain accurate supporting documentation for financial transactions, reconciliations, and journal entries* Coordinate annual external audit materials and work directly with external auditors* Establish and maintain effective accounting procedures and internal controls* Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and efficiency* Provide leadership, training, review, and support to accounting staff* Partner with the General Manager and Regional Finance Team on financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis* Provide hands-on support and backup to accounting staff as needed* Perform other accounting and financial responsibilities as assigned **SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES**Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with all Legends Global policies and applicable laws.
