About the role

As a Senior Accountant, you will oversee accounting operations and ensure compliance with local financial regulations. This role offers a hybrid model from our office in Rastatt, Germany, or a fully remote position within Germany. Your primary duties include managing accounting processes, financial reporting, and adherence to local and international regulations.

Your Responsibilities

• Oversee full accounting for subsidiaries according to local regulations in Germany.
• Prepare and approve financial statements, balance sheets, and income statements per applicable standards (HGB, USGAAP, etc.).
• Supervise monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
• Coordinate with external auditors and prepare audit documentation.
• Handle tax filings (VAT, CIT, etc.) in Germany and other relevant jurisdictions.
• Manage intercompany transactions and consolidations across jurisdictions.
• Collaborate with other departments to support financial and operational processes.
• Ensure compliance with labor laws, tax regulations, and payroll requirements.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Senior Accountant at the entity level.
• At least 5 years of experience with German accounting and tax regulations.
• Ability to work independently in a distributed environment.
• Experience with international or cross-border operations.
• Proven skills in tax calculations (VAT, CIT), financial statement preparation, and account reconciliation.
• Fluent in English and German, both written and spoken.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of HGB and experience with ERP systems.
• Proactive mindset and ability to work within an international team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certifications such as ACCA or CPA.
• Deep knowledge of German accounting, tax regulations, payroll, and employer obligations.
