Job summary

Trial Balance in Bath is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join a growing team, offering hybrid working with some Bath office days and occasional travel to the head office. The role combines accounts, tax and audit exposure while building lasting client relationships.

The successful candidate will be ACA or ACCA qualified, with strong experience in an accountancy practice, and a proactive, commercially aware approach to contributing to the Bath office’s growth and client service.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review statutory and management accounts for a diverse client portfolio
• Support audit assignments and collaborate with the team to ensure quality
• Prepare corporation tax and personal tax computations and returns
• Complete VAT returns where required and ensure compliance
• Build lasting relationships with clients and act as a trusted adviser
• Provide practical accounting and tax support and respond to day-to-day queries
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and add value for clients
• Work with Managers and Partners to deliver work accurately and on time

Trial Balance are delighted to be working with a highly respected and ambitious accountancy practice as they continue their expansion with the launch of a new Bath office. They're now looking to recruit an experienced Senior Accountant to become an integral part of this exciting new chapter.

This is a varied role offering strong accounts, tax and audit exposure, alongside the opportunity to build lasting client relationships and work closely with an experienced leadership team.

The role will have lots of hybrid working alongside some office days in Bath. There will also be occasional travel to the firm's head office, typically once or twice each month.

As Senior Accountant, your responsibilities will include:

• - Preparing and reviewing statutory and management accounts for a varied portfolio of clients
• - Supporting the delivery of audit assignments where required, working alongside colleagues to ensure work is completed accurately and to the required standard.
• - Preparing corporation tax and personal tax returns and associated computations
• - Completing and reviewing VAT returns where required
• - Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted point of contact
• - Providing practical accounting and taxation support to clients and responding to day-to-day queries
• -Identifying opportunities to improve processes and add value for clients
• -Working closely with Managers and Partners to ensure assignments are delivered accurately, efficiently and within agreed deadlines

The successful Senior Accountant candidate will:

• - Be ACA or ACCA qualified
• - Have strong experience working within an accountancy practice
• - Be confident across accounts preparation and taxation
• - Enjoy building long-term client relationships and working closely with business owners
