Job summary

Trial Balance in Falmouth is seeking an experienced Accounts Senior to join its respected accountancy practice. The role offers a broad mix of work, regular client contact and the opportunity to develop your technical skills within a supportive team.

You will prepare and review year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies, handle personal and corporate tax returns, VAT, and help mentor junior staff while working closely with managers and Partners to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Experience in an accountancy practice with accounts preparation and taxation.
• ACA or ACCA qualification or part-qualified/qualified by experience.
• Organised, technically capable with strong client communication.
• Willing to mentor junior team members and work with managers/partners.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and reviewing year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
• Preparing personal and corporate tax returns and computations
• Completing VAT returns and bookkeeping assignments
• Managing client relationships and acting as a key point of contact
• Responding to client queries and providing practical accounting and taxation support
• Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team
• Working closely with Managers and Partners to ensure work is delivered accurately and within agreed deadlines

As Accounts Senior, your responsibilities will include:

• Completing VAT returns and bookkeeping assignments where required
• Managing client relationships and acting as a key point of contact
• Responding to client queries and providing practical accounting and taxation support
• Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team
• Working closely with Managers and Partners to ensure work is delivered accurately and within agreed deadlines

As Accounts Senior, you'll bring:

Previous experience working within an accountancy practice and a strong grounding across accounts preparation and taxation.

An ACA or ACCA qualification would be advantageous, although candidates who are part-qualified or qualified by experience will also be considered. You'll be organised, technically capable and confident communicating with clients and colleagues, with a pro‑active approach to managing your workload.
