Job description

About Us

Our partner is a closely held boutique investment bank, supporting investors, developers, and strategics in their industry verticals through capital raising, project finance, and M&A advisory, with approximately 50 employees and EBIT of $50m+. As they continue to scale, they are seeking a Senior Accountant, with a primary focus on accounts payable/ expense system operations, accounts receivable, and general ledger.

Position Overview

The Senior Accountant will take ownership of the accounts payable function — invoice processing, vendor management, and payment execution — while supporting broader accounting operations — accounts receivable, expense platform operations, general ledger administration — and using AI-assisted accounting tools (e.g., Claude), with room to take on more of that scope over time. This is a strong opportunity for a motivated, detail-oriented professional to grow into an expanded accounting role as the finance function matures. We are looking for someone who values accuracy, consistency, and ownership within a professional investment banking environment.

  • Maintain vendor records and payment terms; resolve vendor inquiries and payment discrepancies.
  • Manage expense coding and employee reimbursement processing.
  • Track deal-related accruals and billable expenses in coordination with the investment banking team.
  • Support general ledger entries and month-end close tasks, including account reconciliations.
  • Assist with ADP payroll and benefits administration.
  • Assist with audit preparation, as needed.
Qualifications
  • Must be located in the Tampa Bay area.
  • Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 2+ years of accounting experience.
  • High proficiency in Excel; experience with QuickBooks, A/P, expense systems, and AI tools a plus.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional communication skills, a proactive mindset and an ownership mentality.
