Job summary

American Medical Administrators LTC in Missouri is seeking a proactive Senior Accountant to support financial reporting, analysis, and process improvements across multiple facilities. This role partners with the Accounting Team and leadership to ensure accurate GAAP reporting.

You will lead monthly close, prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and consolidated statements, while maintaining internal controls and supporting annual audits. Hybrid work arrangement with a healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Experience supporting multi-state operations, payroll accounting, or commission structures.
• Hands-on experience with Sage Intacct preferred.
• Healthcare or long-term care industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities for multiple locations.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Assist in the preparation of consolidated financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Provide timely and accurate financial reporting to executive leadership.
• Manage intercompany accounting transactions and eliminations.
• Support annual audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.
• Assist with general ledger management and day-to-day accounting operations.
• Prepare monthly accruals, reconciliations, and financial analyses.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal and multi-state regulations.
• Maintain accurate documentation and support audit and compliance requirements.

We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented Senior Accountant to support our expanding healthcare organization. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys taking ownership of key financial processes, partnering across multiple facilities, and helping drive continuous improvements in financial reporting and operational efficiency.

The Senior Accountant will play a vital role in financial reporting, analysis, and process enhancement while collaborating closely with the Accounting Team and organizational leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Internal Controls
