Job summary

Brilliant® is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our growing finance team in Illinois. This role owns key areas of the month-end close, drives process improvements, and partners with stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and proficiency in Excel and ERP systems. CPA or CPA pursuit is a plus, and public accounting experience is beneficial.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • 3+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Experience managing month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • CPA designation or active pursuit of CPA certification is a plus.
  • Public accounting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post journal entries while maintaining the accuracy of the general ledger.
  • Lead month-end and year-end close activities to ensure timely financial reporting.
  • Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare financial statements, supporting schedules, and management reports.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing requested documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal controls.
  • Analyze financial data and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency.
  • Partner with departments across the organization to resolve accounting issues and improve financial processes.
  • Assist with special projects, system implementations, and process optimization initiatives as needed.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountantto join a growing finance team. This position is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys owning key areas of the month-end close, improving processes, and partnering with stakeholders across the business. You'll play a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting while contributing to ongoing operational and accounting initiatives.
