Job summary

Nemaha Valley Community Hospital - Official in Seneca, Kansas is seeking a detail-oriented finance assistant to support the CFO with various tasks. Responsibilities include preparing financial reports, reconciling accounts, and assisting in budget preparation.

Ideal candidates will possess strong accounting skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Previous experience in accounting and a degree in the field are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Previous accounting or bookkeeping experience required; healthcare/nonprofit experience a plus.
  • Associate’s degree or higher preferred.
  • Accounting degree ideal but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Create and enter adjusting journal entries and miscellaneous deposits.
  • Reconcile all bank accounts.
  • Track donations and grants revenue and expenses.
  • Track and reconcile prepaid expenses and nonpatient accounts receivable.
  • Generate financial reports from the electronic health record system.
  • Compile monthly financial statements.
  • Produce and distribute monthly departmental financial reports.
  • Assist with annual budget preparation.
  • Work with CPA firm on financial audits, cost reports, DSH surveys, and tax returns.
  • Assist with accounts payable.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of 1099 forms.
  • Generate production reports, invoices, and billing for shared medical providers.
  • Calculate and submit quarterly sales tax returns.
  • Assist department directors and supervisors with budget and expense inquiries.
