Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with strong General Ledger.
• Solid understanding of GAAP.
• Experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Detail-oriented with ability to identify discrepancies.
• Strong Excel skills; ERP/accounting system experience.
• CPA eligibility is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain General Ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy.
• Prepare and post monthly journal entries, including accruals and adjustments.
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Review GL activity for accuracy and identify unusual transactions.
• Assist with preparation of monthly financial statements and management reporting.
• Maintain supporting schedules and documentation for balance sheet and income statement accounts.
• Perform bank and other account reconciliations as needed.
• Assist with intercompany transactions and reconciliations where applicable.
• Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash-related accounting activities.
• Assist with audit requests and provide supporting documentation.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and improve accounting processes.
• Perform additional accounting and financial analysis projects as assigned.

Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join our accounting team. This position will have a strong focus on General Ledger accounting, month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain assigned General Ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare and post monthly journal entries, including accruals, prepaid expenses, reclassifications, and other adjusting entries.
• Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Support the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring deadlines are consistently met.
• Review General Ledger activity for accuracy and identify unusual or incorrect transactions.
• Assist with preparation of monthly financial statements and management reporting.
• Maintain supporting schedules and documentation for balance sheet and income statement accounts.
• Perform bank and other account reconciliations as needed.
• Assist with intercompany transactions and reconciliations, where applicable.
• Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash-related accounting activities as needed.
• Assist with audit requests and provide supporting documentation to external auditors.
• Help ensure compliance with company accounting policies and GAAP.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with strong General Ledger experience.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and GAAP.
• Strong experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies.
• Strong Excel skills; experience with an ERP/accounting system required.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet close deadlines.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• CPA or CPA eligibility is a plus but not required.
