Job summary

Jobot in San Jose, California is seeking a Senior Accountant with 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in construction or project-based services, to manage general ledger, job costing, and month-end close. You will play a central role in project-based revenue recognition and WIP reporting, collaborating with project managers and operations staff.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance; CPA is a plus.

Core Skills

• Solid working knowledge of GAAP and month end close procedures
• Proficiency with general ledger systems and intermediate to advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups)
• Experience with account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation
• Familiarity with accounts payable/receivable processes in a project or contract billing context (e.g., AIA billing, retainage) is a plus

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy under deadline pressure
• Comfortable working both independently and cross-functionally with project managers and operations staff
• Clear written and verbal communicator, able to explain financial information to non-finance colleagues
