Job summary

Beacon Hill Staffing Group seeks a Senior Accountant, General Ledger to join its Finance & Accounting team in San Francisco. This hands-on role supports monthly close, balance sheet accounting, and financial reporting, with emphasis on ASC 842 lease accounting, controls, and process improvements.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of accounting experience, Big 4 exposure welcome, strong GAAP knowledge, and advanced Excel skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of progressive accounting or public accounting experience.
• Big 4 candidates welcome and preferred for technology/complex clients.
• Strong ASC 842 / lease accounting experience required.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, general ledger accounting, and financial reporting.
• Experience supporting audits and working with complex balance sheet accounts.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly general ledger close, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Manage balance sheet areas: cash, intercompany, prepaids, fixed assets, payroll accruals, leases.
• Own ASC 842 lease accounting and related schedules.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and flux analysis.
• Support external audits and prepare audit-ready workpapers.
• Assist with ERP improvements and accounting process enhancements.
• Help develop scalable controls, procedures, and close processes.

A fast-growing AI technology company is seeking a Senior Accountant, General Ledger to join its expanding Finance & Accounting team. This is a highly visible, hands-on opportunity to join a company during an exciting stage of growth and help strengthen its accounting infrastructure.

The Senior Accountant will play a key role in the monthly close, balance sheet accounting, financial reporting, lease accounting, audit support, and process improvements. This person will also help build scalable accounting processes and controls as the organization continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the monthly general ledger close, including journal entries and reconciliations
• Manage balance sheet areas including cash, intercompany, prepaids, fixed assets, payroll accruals, and leases
• Own and maintain ASC 842 lease accounting and related schedules
• Prepare monthly financial statements and flux analysis
• Support external audits and prepare audit-ready workpapers
• Assist with ERP improvements and accounting process enhancements
• Help develop scalable controls, procedures, and close processes

Requirements

• 3+ years of progressive accounting or public accounting experience
• Open to candidates coming straight from Big 4
• Big 4 candidates should have experience working with technology or similar complex clients
• Strong ASC 842 / lease accounting experience required
• Strong understanding of GAAP, general ledger accounting, and financial reporting
• Experience supporting audits and working with complex balance sheet accounts
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
• Strong Excel and analytical skills
