About The Role

Reporting to the Senior Financial Controller, this role is pivotal for managing financial records, leading the monthly close process, and ensuring compliance with financial rules. Key duties include reconciling accounts, preparing financial statements, and guiding junior staff. The role supports the effective delivery of financial reporting, daily accounting and continuous improvement of financial systems and processes. The position works closely with the Senior Controller - US and global finance team to ensure accurate, timely and compliant financial outcomes across projects and entities.

You will be required to undertake an array of duties required from an all-rounder, including but not limited to the following:

  • Preparation and review of project-related journals and reconciliations
  • Oversight of project AP/AR processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and compliance
  • Assist with annual budgets and ongoing forecasts with financial analysis and variance commentary
  • Collate and review project finance documentation for internal and external audits
  • Ensure compliance documentation required by clients is accurate, complete and submitted on time

Reporting & Analysis

  • Perform variance analysis against budget, forecast and prior periods, providing insights and recommendations
  • Assist with intercompany reconciliations and eliminations across entities
  • Contribute to cashflow forecasting and working capital management

System, Process & Technical Accounting

  • Act as a key finance systems user (NetSuite), ensuring integrity of data across projects and entities
  • Assist with system improvements, integrations, reporting enhancements and automation initiatives
  • Develop, document and maintain finance policies, procedures and process maps
  • Provide guidance and informal training to team members on finance processes and systems
  • Support implementation of best-practice accounting and control frameworks

Compliance, Tax & Audit Support

  • Provide support for sales tax filings review and payment
  • Support internal and external audit processes, including preparation of schedules and responses to audit queries
  • Maintain strong compliance controls aligned with internal governance requirements

Office & Team Support

  • Oversight of shared finance inboxes and prioritisation of queries
  • Oversee accounting of credit card transactions and expense claims

About You

This is a mid to Senior-level position and in order to be successful, you will need to meet the following:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or Business (essential)
  • 4+ years’ experience in accounting or finance roles with increasing responsibility
  • qualified or currently undertaking CPA, CA, CMA or equivalent
  • Strong experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred)
  • Experience working across multiple entities and project-based environments
