Job summary

Addison Group is seeking a Senior Accountant for an onsite contract-to-hire role in San Antonio, TX. You will manage portions of the close, prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.

The position requires 3–5 years of full-cycle accounting, strong GAAP knowledge, and advanced Excel. You will support budgeting, depreciation schedules, and collaborate with AP/AR/payroll to resolve issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3–5 years of full-cycle accounting experience.
• Solid working knowledge of GAAP.
• Experience with general ledger, month-end close, reconciliations, and financial statements.
• Advanced Excel with pivot tables and lookups.

Responsibilities

• Own portions of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close.
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, schedules, and financial statements.
• Track fixed assets; maintain depreciation and amortization schedules.
• Support budgeting and variance analysis.
• Assist with year-end close and audits.
• Coordinate with AP/AR/payroll/banking to resolve issues.
• Recommend improvements to accounting processes and controls.

Job Title: Senior Accountant

Compensation: $80,000 - $90,000 / Annually

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Accounting preferred)
• 3-5 years of progressive, full-cycle accounting experience
• Solid working knowledge of GAAP
• Hands-on experience with general ledger, month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliation tools)
• Comfortable supporting several entities, departments, and cost centers
• Strong analytical, communication, and time-management skills
• Works independently, with sound judgment on confidential information

Key Duties
