Jobot in Oklahoma City is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our energy industry finance team. This permanent, full-time role focuses on accurate GAAP reporting, cash management, and coordinated external and internal reporting.

You will drive monthly closings, assist with budgeting and forecasting, perform variance analyses, and collaborate with auditors. You’ll provide financial insights to management and help strengthen internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; Master’s or CPA a plus.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, energy sector preferred.
• Proficient in financial reporting, cash accounting, and related practices.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, regulations, and Excel proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements in GAAP.
• Manage cash accounting, forecasting, and ensure correct cash transactions.
• Lead financial reporting processes and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Assist with budget preparation and forecasting processes.
• Perform variance analyses and account reconciliations.
• Conduct complex financial analysis and reporting of performance.
• Collaborate with external auditors and provide requested information.
• Maintain internal controls and procedures.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in our financial department, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial data. Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

1. Preparing accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
2. Managing the cash accounting process, including cash flow forecasting, and ensuring that all cash transactions are accurately recorded.
3. Leading the financial reporting processes, including internal and external reporting, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
4. Assisting with budget preparation and financial planning processes.
5. Performing variance analyses and preparing account reconciliations.
6. Conducting complex financial analysis and reporting on financial performance.
7. Collaborating with external auditors, providing necessary information and preparing requested documentations.
8. Implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures.
9. Providing financial insights and recommendations to the management for decision‑making purposes.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. A Master’s degree or CPA certification would be a plus.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or related field, preferably within the energy industry.
3. Proficient in financial reporting, cash accounting, and other related accounting practices.
4. Strong knowledge of GAAP and other accounting principles, laws, and regulations.
5. Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail.
6. Strong computer skills, particularly with accounting software and MS Excel.
7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
8. Ability to work independently, manage large, complex projects, and meet deadlines.
9. Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
10. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results‑orientation.
