Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing costs, inventory, labor, material, and overhead spending.
• Prepare and review cost reports, variance analysis, and plant performance metrics.
• Support month-end close activities, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Partner with operations leaders to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and annual planning activities.
• Monitor inventory accuracy, valuation, and related financial reporting.
• Build and maintain financial models to support strategic initiatives.

A growing manufacturing organization is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to support plant operations through financial analysis, cost accounting, and operational reporting. This position will partner closely with manufacturing leadership to analyze costs, improve profitability, and provide insights that drive business decisions.

Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing costs, inventory, labor, material, and overhead spending
• Prepare and review cost reports, variance analysis, and plant performance metrics
• Support month-end close activities, journal entries, and account reconciliations
• Partner with operations leaders to identify cost-saving and process improvement opportunities
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and annual planning activities
• Monitor inventory accuracy, valuation, and related financial reporting
• Build and maintain financial models to support strategic and operational initiatives
• Present findings and recommendations to plant and finance leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in cost accounting, manufacturing finance, plant finance, or operational accounting
• Experience with standard costing, inventory accounting, and variance analysis
• Strong Excel and data analysis skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with operations and leadership teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Manufacturing, industrial, automotive, metals, or engineered products experience
• ERP system experience
• CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred
