Job summary

Verve is hiring an experienced accounting professional in New York to handle monthly and quarterly accruals, fixed assets, intercompany invoicing, and bank reconciliations. You will support month-end close, run cash forecasting, and collaborate across teams to resolve questions and improve processes.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of accounting, strong Excel, and experience with NetSuite or similar ERP. CPA credential is a plus; remote work is not indicated.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of general accounting experience, ideally multi-entity/intercompany.
• Hands-on with recurring accrual processes including payroll-related, prepaid, fixed assets/intangibles.
• Experience with NetSuite or comparable ERP; familiarity with asset modules.
• Experience with corporate card/expense platforms and payroll platforms is a plus.
• Strong Excel skills and ability to maintain recurring workbooks and reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and record recurring monthly and quarterly accrual journal entries (payroll, rent, tax, other operating expenses).
• Maintain fixed asset and intangible asset schedules with capitalization and amortization.
• Prepare and maintain prepaid expense schedules and related amortization entries.
• Reconcile corporate card activity and cash reimbursements for monthly journal entries.
• Prepare intercompany recharge invoices and process intercompany billings across entities.
• Perform weekly bank reconciliations and monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare P&L, balance sheet, and variance analysis with supporting commentary after month end.
• Support rolling weekly cash forecast for payroll, rent, and operating cash needs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting questions and provide documentation.
• Identify opportunities to streamline and standardize close processes.

What You Will Do

• Prepare and record recurring monthly and quarterly accrual journal entries, including payroll related, rent, tax, and other operating expense accruals
• Maintain fixed asset and intangible asset schedules, including monthly capitalization and amortization entries
• Prepare and maintain prepaid expense schedules and related amortization entries
• Reconcile corporate credit card activity and cash reimbursements to support monthly journal entries
• Prepare and issue intercompany recharge invoices and process intercompany billings across the group's entities
• Perform weekly bank reconciliations and monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Prepare balance sheet, P&L, and revenue/cost of sales variance analysis, along with supporting commentary, following each month end close
• Support a rolling weekly cash forecast covering payroll, rent, and other operating cash needs
• Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting questions and gather supporting documentation
• Identify opportunities to streamline and standardize recurring close processes

What You Will Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a comparable field; CPA or CPA candidate a plus
• 5+ years of general accounting experience, ideally including multi entity or intercompany environments
• Hands on experience with recurring accrual processes (payroll related, prepaid, fixed assets/intangibles, credit card/expense platforms)
• Experience with NetSuite (or a comparable ERP) strongly preferred, including fixed asset and prepaid expense modules
• Experience with corporate card/expense platforms and payroll platforms is a plus
• Strong Excel skills; comfort building and maintaining recurring workbooks and reconciliation files
• Detail oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple recurring deadlines, especially during the first week of each month
• Clear written communication skills for variance commentary and cross functional collaboration
• "Hands-on" mentality and comfort working independently in a remote, multi entity environment

Salary Range

$110k - $115k
