Job summary

The Senior Accountant role in Brooklyn, NY focuses on full ownership of key accounting and financial reporting processes within a fast-paced consumer retail startup. You will drive a hands-on, detail‑oriented approach to scale the finance function and automate workflows.

You will lead month-end close, prepare financial statements, and manage intercompany accounting across US and international entities, while supporting tax filings and audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3 to 7 years of relevant work experience
• Background in general ledger accounting and financial reporting
• Strong understanding of financial statements
• Knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS
• NetSuite or similar ERP experience
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end close process
• Prepare financial statements

• Own general ledger accounting, including journal entries and accruals
• Perform monthly balance sheet and account reconciliations
• Support operational accounting
• Oversee vendor and expense payment processing, including review of AP invoices and third‑party payments
• Provide tax support, including tax filings across multiple jurisdictions
• Provide audit support to external auditors and partner on tax and audit deliverables
• Contribute to process improvements and workflow automation
• Respond to ad hoc financial requests and build processes to support them
