Job summary

Safran, a global aerospace leader, seeks a Senior Accountant to support month-end close, financial reporting, and internal controls in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will partner with Operations and Finance leadership to ensure accuracy and drive performance.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of accounting experience, strong GL knowledge, ERP proficiency, and excellent analytical and communication skills to collaborate across departments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, month-end close, account reconciliations, fixed assets, and financial reporting.
  • Experience analyzing financial data, variances, and operational performance metrics.
  • Knowledge of internal controls, audit support, and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead assigned month-end and year-end close activities to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Analyze general ledger activity, identify discrepancies, and drive issue resolution.
  • Analyze financial statement variances, investigate unusual trends, and provide management reporting.
  • Support ad hoc financial analysis and reporting requirements.
  • Analyze labor, overhead, and purchase price variances and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Partner with Operations to improve inventory accuracy, inventory controls, and costing processes.
  • Support business decisions through financial and operational performance analysis.
  • Support internal and external audits through preparation of schedules and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with internal control compliance and adherence to company policies and accounting standards.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and controls.
  • Manage fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, tracking, depreciation, disposals, and reporting.
  • Administer Sales and Use Tax reporting to ensure accurate and timely filings.
  • Manage Travel & Entertainment expense processes and coordinate related reimbursement and payment activities.

The Senior Accountant supports accounting and financial reporting activities through month-end close execution, financial analysis, compliance support, and process improvement initiatives. This role partners with Operations and Finance leadership to ensure financial accuracy, strengthen internal controls, and support business performance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Analysis
  • Lead assigned month-end and year-end close activities to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

  • Collaborate across functions to support accounting operations and organizational objectives.
