Job summary

GKN Aerospace in Indiana is seeking a Senior Accountant to ensure IFRS compliance, support financial reporting, forecasting and budgeting, and manage monthly close, journal entries and account analysis.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Accounting or Finance, 3+ years in accounting (manufacturing experience preferred), and strong MS Excel skills. Experience with ERP systems (Infor LN or SAP) and a track record of process improvement will be valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, manufacturing preferred.
• 3+ years MS Excel experience with pivot, VLOOKUP, and formulas.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the monthly financial close process, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly statements/forecasts in One Stream; assist with management reports and schedules.
• Assist with audits and regulatory filings; ensure timely materials.
• Document procedures to improve accounting systems and asset controls.
• Assist with system enhancements and testing of report upgrades.
• Forecast cash flow and monitor actual cash.
• Maintain fixed asset ledger and depreciation schedules.
• Adhere to regulatory guidance and internal policies.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Controller, the Senior Accountant will perform accounting activities to ensure compliance with IFRS, corporate policies and external auditors. The Senior Accountant will have an active role in financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, monthly closing, journal entries, and account analysis.

Job Responsibilities

• Coordinate the monthly financial close process, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, preparing/reviewing journal entries, and account reconciliations. Identify and resolve financial accounting issues.
• Preparation of monthly financial statements/forecasts in One Stream software. Assist in preparation of management reports and accompanying schedules, worksheets, and narratives including "Budget vs Actual" variance reports and presentations. Coordinate and complete periodic Corporate Tax Packages and regulatory filings.
• Assist with external and internal audits/reviews. Complete requested materials timely.
• Evaluate and document procedures and workflow to achieve accurate and efficient accounting systems, safeguard company assets and ensure transactions are recorded properly.
• Assist with system enhancements to increase efficiency, including testing and final approval for upgrades of system reports and automating process.
• Forecast cash projects and monitor actual cash flow.
• Maintain fixed asset subsidiary ledger in Sage FAS, depreciation schedules, costing appropriateness of new assets and monitor asset costs against approved expenditures.
• Abide by all regulatory guidance and internal policies and procedures.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent, required.
• 3+ years of progressive experience in the accounting field, including experience in a manufacturing industry, required.
• 3+ years of intermediate-to-advanced experience with MS Excel, including functions such as pivot, VLOOKUPs and formulas, required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, including IFRS.
• Knowledge of Infor LN.
• Knowledge of SAP ERP system (implementation planned for 2027).
• Strong analytical and accounting skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Intermediate to advanced experience with MS Word and Access.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of fully integrated ERP software packages.
• Ability to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.
