Job summary

Safran Cabin, headquartered in Huntington Beach, California, is seeking a Cost Accountant with 3+ years in a large manufacturing accounting function. You will perform variance analysis, COGS, standard costing, and overhead/labor rate calculations, while supporting period-end closings and ERP updates.

You will collaborate with Controllers to prepare financial reports, assist audits, and help validate BOM and routings for cost accuracy. Strong Excel and analytical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 3+ years in an accounting department for a large manufacturer.
• Proficient in MS Office suite and Excel.
• Strong analytical and reporting capabilities.

• Variance Analysis.
• Cost of Goods Sold Analysis.
• Standard Costing.
• Overhead & Labor Rate Calculation.
• Inventory Valuation Analysis.
• Ad-hoc financial analysis.
• Assist Controllers in preparing financial reports and recommendations.
• Assist Controllers in preparing Standard Costing as needed.
• Demonstrate understanding of BOM & Routings for cost validation.
• Provide reports and back up to internal and external auditors as requested.
• Update ERP with Overhead & Labor Rate Calculations supplied by Controllers.
• Assist in Cross Functional Training of Cost Accounting Concepts.
• Perform period end closing activities and journal entries and GL account analysis.
• Perform account reconciliations to drive inventory cycle accuracy and review at Balance Sheet Review meetings.
• Perform Error Clearing and resolve recurring issues with other departments.
• Perform Annual Cost roll with multi-week validations.
• Prepare audit reports and present findings to management to improve transparency.
• Assist with physical inventory audits as requested.
• Assist as required with special projects and perform all other duties as assigned.

• 3+ years' experience in an accounting department for a large manufacturer.

Computer Skills

• Familiarity with Windows Operating System.
• Demonstrated solid understanding/use of Microsoft Office products including: Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Intermediate knowledge/use of Microsoft Excel.
