Job summary

Hoxton Circle, a private equity backed software company serving institutional investors, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its corporate accounting team in New York. You will own the monthly accounting for personnel costs and work closely with payroll accruals, prepayments, and other close activities tied to compensation.

You will partner with the broader accounting team through the monthly close, prepare journal entries for payroll-related accounts, and contribute to process improvements

Qualifications

• 3 years of corporate accounting experience, including close processes.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Willingness to learn and collaborate in a team.
• Experience with cloud ERP is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and curiosity.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly accounting for personnel costs, including salary accruals and prepayments.
• Partner with the accounting team through the monthly close.
• Prepare and review payroll-related journal entries.
• Collaborate cross-functionally as the team scales.
• Engage in ad hoc improvements and acquisitions integration.
• Work daily in a cloud-based ERP and CRM environment.

We're partnering with a private equity backed software company serving institutional investors across the capital markets, on the search for a Senior Accountant to join its corporate accounting team in New York.

This Senior Accountant will own accounting for personnel costs, working closely with the team on payroll related accruals, prepayments, and other close activity tied to compensation. The opening is part of the team's continued growth. It's a supportive group with a strong track record of developing people internally.

What you'll be doing:

• Own the monthly accounting for personnel costs, including salary accruals, prepayments, and related reconciliations
• Partner closely with the broader accounting team throughout the monthly close process
• Prepare and review journal entries tied to payroll and compensation related accounts
• Collaborate cross functionally as the accounting team continues to scale and take on new responsibilities
• Get involved in ad hoc projects and process improvements as the company grows, including exposure to integration work from acquisitions
• Work daily in a modern cloud based ERP and CRM environment

What we're looking for:

• Around three years of corporate accounting experience, ideally with solid grounding in the monthly close process, including accruals and prepayments
• A great attitude. Humble, hands on, and genuinely willing to jump in and learn
• Intellectual curiosity and strong critical thinking, someone who asks good questions and solves problems rather than just executing tasks
• A collaborative, team first mindset. This is a close knit group that works well together
• Experience with a major cloud ERP system is a plus, not required
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

Compensation & logistics:

• Base salary: $95,000 to $100,000, bonus eligible
• In office three days per week in Manhattan
