Job summary

Rite of Passage is seeking a Senior Accountant at our main office in Minden, Nevada. The role oversees accounting transactions for designated cost centers and ensures GAAP compliance, while delivering accurate financial statements and forecasts.

You will lead monthly, quarterly and annual closings, and you’ll be part of a finance team focused on precision, audit readiness, and timely reporting to support youth programs and organizational growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required.
• 5–7 years of accounting experience; 8 years may substitute.
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills required.
• Familiarity with GAAP and financial statement preparation.
• Experience with Great Plains preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage all accounting transactions for assigned cost centers in GAAP.
• Prepare budget forecasts and publish timely financial statements.
• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual closings and reconciliations.
• Review, analyze and ensure accuracy of financial data.

Minden, NVis a small town located in the western part of Nevada, In the Carson Valley, about 15 miles south of Carson City and roughly 45 south of Reno. It serves as the county seat of Douglas County. The area is known for its pc picturesque landscapes, characterized by the backdrop of the Sierra Nevada Mountains to the west and the Carson Range to the east. Minden itself is a charming, historic town with a population of just under 4,000 people.

What you will do: As the Senior Accountant works as a member of the Finance Team and is responsible for managing all accounting transactions of assigned cost centers according to GAAP, prepare budget forecasts, review, analyze and publish financial statements in time. Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings.

• Possess a Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field and 5-7 years of accounting experience and knowledge; or 8 years prior accounting experience and knowledge may be substituted
• Advanced Microsoft Office and Excel skills required. Knowledge of Great Plains Preferred
• Be able to produce, review and analyze financial statements
• Be able to perform bank reconciliations
• Can perform audit
• Ability to reconcile general ledger accounts
• Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical, and TB test
• Be able to pass a search of the child abuse central registry.

Schedule:Monday - Friday ~ 8am - 5pm
