Job summary

theDeveloper | IT em Portugal is seeking a finance professional to manage month-end close, reconciliations, payroll, and analytics for a growth-stage SAAS company in the United States. You will ensure GAAP-compliant statements and accurate general ledger maintenance.

The role requires 4–7 years of accounting experience, strong English communication, and knowledge of USA tax code. A proactive, detail-oriented mindset and ability to wear multiple hats are essential.

Qualifications

• 4 to 7 years proven work experience in Accounting and/or Bookkeeping.
• Experience with SAAS accounting is preferred.
• Knowledge of USA tax code and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Perform the month-end close and prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements.
• Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and expense allocations.
• Reconcile Bank, Stripe, Chargebee and crypto accounts.
• Analyze financial data and provide actionable insights.
• Maintain General Ledger and reconcile accounts.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting.
• Generate internal and external financial reports and support tax returns.
• Prepare and review payroll for disbursement.

Responsibilities

• Perform the month-end close process:
  • Prepare timely and accurate financial statements and related analyses in accordance with GAAP.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, transactions, monthly accruals, and expense allocations.
• Reconciliation: Bank, Stripe, Chargebee, and crypto.
• Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data and provide insights.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate financial records.
• Budgeting: Assist in budget preparation and monitoring.
• Forecasts: Build revenue and expense forecast models.
• Financial Reporting:
  • Generate reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Respond to information requests related to preparing federal and state income tax returns.
• Update and maintain the General Ledger.
• Payroll: Prepare and review payroll, and approve for disbursement.
  

Requirements

• Excellent written English
• 4 to 7 years of proven work experience in Accounting and/or Bookkeeping
• Prior accounting experience with SAAS companies
