A financial services firm located in California is seeking a Senior Accountant to manage key accounting processes and ensure accurate financial reporting. Responsibilities

• Manage prepaids journal entry schedule and reconciliation.
• Coordinate fixed assets and depreciation.
• Handle accounts payable reconciliation and accruals.

Job description

As a Senior Accountant, you’ll be a key player in managing core accounting processes and ensuring accurate financial reporting. This is a hands‑on role where you’ll work closely with the Controller and CFO to improve processes and support strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and manage:
• Prepaids journal entry schedule and reconciliation
• Fixed assets, depreciation, and rollforward; coordinate quarterly with operations
• Accruals and reserves (including workers’ comp and medical)
• Accounts payable reconciliation
• Debt rollforward
• Lease maintenance journal entries and rollforwards
• Other reconciliations, journal entries, and special projects
• Support process improvement initiatives and contribute ideas for efficiency

Reporting Structure

• Reports to: Controller

Required Qualifications

• Strong GAAP knowledge
• Ability to identify and prepare proper supporting documentation for journal entries and reconciliations
• Highly motivated and proactive—someone who goes beyond the bare minimum
• Excellent Excel skills (data analysis, variance analysis)
• Proven experience driving process improvements

Software/Tools

• Large ERP experience
