Job summary

LHH Houston is seeking a Senior Accountant to partner with the business, influence decision‑making, and own key financial processes. This role will drive month-end close, fixed assets, capitalization, project accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis within a larger corporate environment.

You will lead process improvements, collaborate with department leaders and non-finance stakeholders, and mentor junior staff to ensure accurate financial reporting and strong internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• 5+ years of accounting experience.
• Strong month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Exposure to fixed assets, capitalization, project accounting, or CIP accounting.
• Experience partnering with department leaders and non-finance stakeholders.

What You'll Be Doing

• Own month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Manage fixed assets, capital projects, depreciation, amortization, and project accounting activities
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for multiple departments
• Partner directly with business leaders to review financial performance, spending trends, and forecasts
• Track project costs and provide financial support for key operational initiatives
• Collaborate cross-functionally on process improvements and system enhancements
• Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• 5+ years of accounting experience
• Strong experience with month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and journal entries
• Exposure to fixed assets, capitalization, project accounting, or CIP accounting
• Experience partnering with department leaders and non-finance stakeholders
• Background in a larger company or public company environment preferred
