Job summary

LHH partners with a growing energy organization in Houston to hire an Accounting Manager who will own the close process, manage the accounting team, and drive high-quality financial reporting.

The role provides visibility to executive leadership and requires strong GAAP knowledge, ERP experience, and a track record of process improvements to support operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and vendor/customer master data processes.
• Manage and mentor accounting staff while driving efficiency and accountability within the team.
• Prepare and review management reporting packages and support GAAP financial reporting requirements.
• Coordinate regulatory and tax compliance activities, including federal, state, local, sales/use, and property tax filings.
• Assist with technical accounting matters, lease accounting, and implementation of new accounting standards.
• Support audits, annual budget processes, treasury activities, and special projects.
• Partner with internal stakeholders and external consultants on process improvements and strategic initiatives.
• Serve as a key resource for ERP administration and financial systems optimization.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications

• Prior experience preparing or auditing financial statements

• Experience with ERP systems; Sage Intacct experience is a plus
• Advanced Excel and financial reporting skills
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities
