Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Houston team. You will prepare accurate financial statements, manage month‑end close, and ensure GAAP compliance across P2P and O2C processes.

With 5+ years of accounting experience and a Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance, you will analyze data, perform reconciliations, and support audits while driving process improvements and collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive professional accounting experience required.
• Strong understanding of corporate accounting processes, including procure‑to‑pay, order‑to‑cash, and audit cycles.
• Proficiency with accounting software and advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
• Demonstrated experience with month, quarter, and year‑end close activities and financial statement analysis.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to interpret data and provide meaningful recommendations.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; able to interact across all levels of the organization.
• Proven ability to take initiative, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Customer‑focused mindset and collaboration across departments.
• Self‑starter with excellent organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret financial data for GAAP compliance.

• Complete monthly and year-end close processes, including journal entries.
• Support interim and year-end reporting and audits.
• Lead and complete annual audits with the Controller.
• Maintain internal controls and corporate accounting policies.
• Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency and scalability.
• Develop and maintain financial reporting tools and provide actionable insights to management.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams during acquisitions to support integration of financial operations.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Perform detailed reconciliations of income statement and balance sheet accounts; investigate and resolve variances against forecasts or historical trends.
• Complete monthly and year-end close processes, including journal entry preparation and review.
• Support interim and year-end reporting.
• Lead and complete on‑time and on‑budget the Company’s annual audit (with Controller).
• Maintain internal controls, process documentation, and compliance with corporate accounting policies.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and scalability of accounting operations.
• Develop and maintain financial reporting tools for key metrics, analyze business drivers, and provide actionable insights to management.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams during acquisitions to support integration of financial operations.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.

• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to interpret data and provide meaningful recommendations.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; able to interact effectively across all levels of the organization.
