Job summary

Godshall Recruiting is seeking a senior-level accountant who understands the story behind the numbers and can identify issues before they become problems. You are highly proficient in QuickBooks Online and enjoy working with multiple clients, systems, and financial data sets in a flexible, hybrid environment.

You will manage client accounting activities, reconcile multi-platform sales data, and handle multi-state sales tax returns while maintaining compliance.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of accounting experience with strong general ledger and financial reporting knowledge.
• Advanced QuickBooks Online experience required.
• Experience with sales tax compliance and multi-state filings preferred.
• Familiarity with retail, hospitality, and third-party transaction platforms such as Stripe, Square, and Shopify.
• Strong understanding of payroll reporting and payroll-related journal entries.
• Self-motivated, client-focused professional with excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently.
• Clean background and personal credit

Responsibilities

• Manage client accounting activities within QuickBooks Online, ensuring financial records are accurate, complete, and up to date.
• Reconcile sales activity from platforms such as Stripe, Square, Shopify, and other third-party systems.
• Prepare and file multi-state sales tax returns while maintaining compliance with applicable requirements.
• Review payroll reports and prepare accurate payroll journal entries within QuickBooks Online.
• Analyze financial statements, investigate discrepancies, and identify unusual balances or transactions.
• Communicate directly with clients to resolve questions, provide guidance, and support their accounting needs.
