Job summary

WaterBridge is hiring a Senior Accountant to support revenue accounting, capex, and overhead activities for operations based in Houston, TX. The role reports to the Operations Controller and collaborates with Operations, AP, Corporate Accounting, and Treasury to ensure accurate close processes.

Qualified candidates will have 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in oil and gas, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with Workday.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in accounting, revenue accounting, or capital accounting preferred.
• Oil and gas industry experience preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledge of Workday highly preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
• Ability to gather and analyze information.
• Ability to resolve problems in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and record revenue accounting entries as part of the monthly close process.
• Reconcile revenue accounts and research and resolve variances in a timely manner.
• Track and account for capex components, ensuring proper classification and capitalization.
• Reconcile capex sub-ledgers to the general ledger and support fixed asset reporting.
• Perform overhead cost analysis, including cost allocation and variance review.
• Prepare month-end journal entries and supporting schedules for revenue, capex, and overhead.
• Assist with account reconciliations and balance sheet schedules as part of the close.
• Prepare ad hoc analyses as needed.
• Perform other accounting/administrative duties as assigned.
• Maintain alignment with internal controls and process standards.
• Drive process improvements related to recurring duties and ad hoc projects.
• Meet monthly deadlines related to the internal accounting close calendar.
• Work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve accounting discrepancies

WaterBridge / Landbridge is currently hiring for a Senior Accountant here in our Houston, TX office.

The Senior Accountant will support LandBridge revenue accounting activities as part of the monthly close process for its operations within the Delaware Basin. This position will report to the Operations Controller and be responsible for revenue accounting, capital expenditure (capex) component accounting, overhead cost analysis, and ad hoc project work as needed. The Senior Accountant must have strong analytical skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with Operations, AP, Corporate Accounting, and Treasury to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare and record revenue accounting entries as part of the monthly close process.
• Reconcile revenue accounts and research and resolve variances in a timely manner.
• Track and account for capital expenditure (capex) components, ensuring proper classification and capitalization.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Experience in the oil and gas industry is preferred.
