Job summary

WaterBridge is seeking a Corporate Engineer to support hydraulic modeling, system capacity planning, and engineering standards. You will lead hydraulic analyses, update standard models, and collaborate across project managers, field personnel, and design teams to ensure solutions meet operational needs.

Requirements include a Bachelor's in an engineering field and 2+ years of relevant experience, with proficiency in Python/SQL or similar languages and introductory hydraulic modeling exposure.

Job description

WaterBridge is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Corporate Engineer to support hydraulic modeling, system capacity planning, and engineering standards across our pipeline and water infrastructure operations. This role blends technical modeling expertise with cross-functional collaboration, providing engineering leadership during estimation, design, and digital transformation initiatives.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Utilize and develop models using hydraulics software to simulate pipeline and system behavior
  • Perform short-term and long-term system capacity modeling
  • Identify system bottlenecks
  • Develop scope for associated optimization projects
  • Provide continual hydraulic model stewardship, including updating the standard hydraulic model with as-builts and confirming equipment specifications and capacities
  • Match in-model facilities to in-the-field real equivalents
  • Perform system modeling, surge analysis, and hydraulic calculations to support new and existing infrastructure
  • Collect and analyze field and operational data to build and validate system models
  • Support the development and implementation of corporate engineering standards to ensure consistency, quality, and compliance across projects
  • Provide technical leadership during the estimation and design phases of projects
  • Collaborate with project managers, field personnel, and design teams to ensure engineering solutions meet functional and operational needs
  • Assist in the implementation of new technologies to improve engineering and operational workflows
  • Contribute to digital transformation initiatives through coding and automation of engineering workflows
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering
  • 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Intermediate coding experience in at least one of the following languages: Python, SQL, VBA, MATLAB, or C++
  • Introductory experience in steady state hydraulic modeling
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Mechanical Engineering degree
  • Proficiency with one or more hydraulic modeling software tools, such as Pipesim, AFT Fathom, Synergi Pipeline Simulator (SPS), Synergi Liquid, or equivalent tools
  • Introductory experience in water hammer / surge analysis
  • Experience in operational data gathering and analysis
  • Programming and scripting skills in SQL, Python, or VBA
Key Competencies:
  • Strong analytical and technical modeling skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across project management, field, and design teams
  • Self-directed with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving system issues
  • Comfortable applying coding and automation skills to improve engineering workflows

Operates in a professional and/or business casual office environment.
