Qualifications

• 5+ years progressive accounting experience, including construction industry exposure.
• Experience in monthly reporting or financial close and management reporting responsibilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong understanding of construction accounting, including job costing, WIP, revenue recognition.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and Excel for financial analysis and reconciliation.
• CPA designation or progress toward CPA is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Own the month-end close process, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and monthly reports.
• Prepare and analyze income statements, balance sheets, cash flow reports, and project-level financial results.
• Manage construction job costing and review budgets, actuals, commitments, and forecasts to identify risks and opportunities.
• Prepare and maintain work-in-progress schedules and revenue recognition.
• Partner with project managers to explain financial performance and investigate variances.
• Maintain general ledger accuracy and ensure compliance with accounting standards and policies.
• Support AP, AR, subcontractor accounting, billing, and retention tracking.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, audits, and tax-related schedules.
• Strengthen internal controls and streamline accounting processes.
• Provide guidance to accounting team and foster a collaborative finance function.

Job Details

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze income statements, balance sheets, cash flow reports, and project-level financial results.

• Provide guidance to accounting team members and contribute to a collaborative, accountable finance function.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including relevant experience in the construction industry.
• Demonstrated experience in monthly reporting or equivalent financial close, financial statement preparation, and management reporting responsibilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
• Strong understanding of construction accounting, including job costing, work-in-progress reporting, project profitability, and revenue recognition.
• Proficiency in accounting or ERP systems and Microsoft Excel, including financial analysis and reconciliation tools.
• Solid knowledge of applicable accounting standards, internal controls, and general ledger management.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to investigate discrepancies and recommend practical solutions.
• Ability to manage competing deadlines while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
• Clear communication skills and confidence working with project managers, operational teams, and senior leadership.
• CPA designation or progress toward a professional accounting qualification is an advantage.
