Job summary

The State Group is seeking a Senior Accountant based in Evansville, Indiana. This position reports directly to the Regional Controller.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Prepare, review, and analyze the Work in Progress (WIP) report and work with project managers, division managers, and contract administrators for accurate cost projections.
• Facilitate the completion of monthly sales and costs forecasts for all assigned divisions.
• Compile financial information and prepare journal entries to produce accrual and cash-basis monthly financial statements and supporting schedules. Review and post entries as required.
• Analyze financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare bank and balance sheet reconciliations, recommending corrective entries and performing follow-up.
• Prepare accurate and timely departmental reports with an analysis of the results.
• Analyze transactions and ensure all are entered into the system on a timely basis. Review, follow up, and report on exceptions.
• Maintain reports, spreadsheets, charts, and graphs to assist in the interpretation of operating results.
• Review accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including invoices, contracts, and vouchers, for accuracy.
• Protect operations by keeping financial information confidential.
• Contribute to a team effort with various data entry and miscellaneous assignments and other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU NEED TO JOIN OUR TEAM

• Experience with financial software and advanced MS Excel experience, including linking documents, working with formulas, and creating pivot tables.
