The State Group is seeking an Operations Manager to work remotely for our State Group Automation Company. WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Foster a proactive, safety-first culture by leading through example, encouraging employee engagement, and driving a shared commitment to achieving company safety goals across all operations.
- Support a high-performing, compliant operation by providing clear guidance, open communication, and accountability to meet all regulatory, company, customer, and legal requirements.
- Partner with the Director of Operations to improve financial results, operational effectiveness, and long-term growth through strategic planning and data-driven decision-making. Mentor and develop team members to support both individual growth and overall business success. Present key operational and financial metrics to executive leadership to drive continuous improvement and informed decisions.
- Drive inside and outside sales growth and business development by building and strengthening client relationships, identifying new opportunities, and expanding strategic accounts that support long-term revenue growth and repeat business.
- Provide strong leadership in managing client relationships and change initiatives, guiding teams through transitions with clear communication, accountability, and a focus on customer satisfaction and operational continuity.
- Lead, coach, and develop direct reports while cultivating a positive, collaborative, high-performance culture that supports employee engagement, succession planning, and organizational development.
- Develop and implement strategic and tactical operational programs that achieve targeted business objectives, solving complex challenges in a fast-paced industrial environment through analytical, data-driven decision-making and innovative problem-solving.
- Provide operational and financial expertise across all business activities, including proposals, negotiations, bidding, estimating, contracting, scheduling, job costing, construction management, and strategic problem resolution.
- Conduct operational audits to ensure consistency, compliance, and alignment with best practices while driving continuous improvement initiatives that increase efficiency, standardize processes, and enhance overall business performance.
- Travel 50-75% to support customers, strengthen client partnerships, develop new business opportunities, and provide leadership to field teams.
WHAT YOU NEED TO JOIN OUR TEAM
- 10+ years of relevant construction, project management, or leadership experience, including 3 years in a senior professional role.
- A bachelor's degree or trade certification is preferred.
- Proven track record in estimating and managing construction, Industrial, or facilities projects valued at $10 million or more.
- Experience directly supervising, mentoring, and developing employees.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Excel.
- Advanced knowledge of estimating, project management, and MS Office programs.
- Strong understanding of job costing and financial processes.
- Previous experience as the leader of a business unit or organization preferred.
