Senior Accountant (Full Time)

This is a Full Time Monday - Friday position
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries and maintain the general ledger
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and fixed assets
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities
- Maintain supporting schedules and documentation for financial statements
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and variance analyses
- Support budget preparation, monitoring, and financial forecasting activities
- Provide financial data and analysis to the Controller as requested
- Support accounting functions related to Medicare, Medicaid, and other payer settlements
- Assist with cost report preparation and supporting schedules
- Apply healthcare accounting standards and reimbursement methodologies
- Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), hospital policies, and applicable regulations
- Assist with internal and external audits, including preparation of schedules and supporting documentation
- Support cash management activities, bank recociliations, and cash forecasting
- Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives
- Provide backup support for other finance department functions as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- Previous accounting experience preferred
- Healthcare accounting experience preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Word required
- Experience with PDF management, scanning software, and accounting systems preferred
- CPA certification preferred but not required
