Job summary

Hollingsworth & Vose is seeking a Senior Accountant – Plant Accounting to ensure the accuracy of financial results at our manufacturing plants. You will partner with plant operations and corporate accounting to manage journal entries, accruals and reconciliations.

Responsibilities include month-end close support, variance analysis, and process improvements. CPA/CMA preferred; 4–6 years in manufacturing accounting and ERP experience (SAP/Oracle) are highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or CMA preferred.
• 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing or plant.
• Manufacturing or multi-site environment experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of cost accounting and inventory processes required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review plant journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Analyze plant Balance Sheet and P&L variances versus budget, forecast, and prior periods.
• Support the month-end close process for timely reporting of plant results.
• Collaborate with Corporate Accounting to consolidate financials into corporate results.
• Participate in improvement projects to streamline financial and operational processes.
• Ensure adherence to accounting policies and internal controls.
• Assist with external audit requests and training staff.

This role focuses on plant-level accounting activities while partnering closely with both plant operations and corporate accounting teams. The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Corporate Accounting Manager.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Prepare and review plant-related journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.Analyze plant Balance Sheet and P&L results and variances versus budget, forecast, and prior periods.Support the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate reporting of plant results.Collaborate with the Corporate Accounting team to consolidate financials into corporate results.Participate in continuous improvement projects to streamline financial and operational processes.Ensure adherence to corporate accounting policies and internal control requirements.Assist with external audit requests, ensuring timely and accurate responses.Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities.Assist with general accounting tasks and ad hoc requests as needed.Provide guidance to plant staff accountants and assist with training as needed.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or CMA preferred.Minimum 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or plant environment.Manufacturing or multi-site environment experience strongly preferred.Working knowledge of cost accounting and inventory processes required. SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, ETC:Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting principles.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-site coordination.Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle,) and advanced Excel skills.High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.CORE COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:Applies deep accounting and financial expertise to support sound business decisions.
