Role Description:

As a member of the accounting team, this individual will be responsible for the execution of accounting close responsibilities for various operational accounting processes. These processes include preparation of recurring monthly journal entries, capital and LOE accruals, AFE set-up and variance analysis, backup support for accounts payable processing functions, and coordination between the operations and land departments. A successful individual in this position will demonstrate initiative, desire to learn, system savviness, ability to communicate with various stakeholders, and effectiveness working both independently and collaboratively.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, with emphasis in Accounting or Finance preferred but not required for those with significant oil and gas accounting experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in oil and gas accounting required.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Oil and gas accounting system knowledge
• Strong operational accounting background including working knowledge of JIB and O&G Revenue procedures
• Experience reviewing invoices for coding accuracy and ensuring timely processing within OpenInvoice
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrate accuracy, thoroughness, strong attention to detail, and organization
• Continuous improvement mindset and a desire to seek out and implement best practices
• Build trust and create a rewarding work environment that encourages engagement, ownership, and accountability
• Ability to prioritize and plan work activities, set goals, use time efficiently, and manage competing demands

Compensation:

The base salary range for this position is $100,000 to $130,000. Actual individual salaries are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other organizational needs. In addition, our Benefits & Compensation package includes medical and dental coverage, 401(k) match, and generous paid time off.
