The Hire is assisting a well-established public accounting firm serving nonprofit organizations in the region. They seek a Senior Accountant to join their growing team, working closely with leadership and clients in a collaborative, relationship-driven environment focused on small to mid-sized nonprofits.

The ideal candidate will have nonprofit accounting experience, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to manage client relationships while balancing multiple engagements.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of public accounting experience.
• Nonprofit/not-for-profit accounting experience preferred.
• Experience with audit planning, fieldwork, and financial statement preparation.
• Familiarity with Form 990 preparation.
• Single audit experience is a plus; CPA designation or CPA-track preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively both internally and with clients.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct audit fieldwork for nonprofit clients.
• Prepare financial statements and supporting documentation.
• Prepare and review Form 990 filings.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through responsive communication.
• Collaborate with partners and team to meet engagement deadlines.
• Assist clients with accounting and reporting throughout engagements.
• Participate in audits of nonprofit organizations of varying sizes.
