About the Company

Our client is a growing and dynamic organization in the Columbus market seeking a talented Senior Accountant to join their accounting team. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with leadership, contribute to key financial initiatives, and play an important role in supporting the company's continued growth.

Position Summary

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing complex accounting activities, supporting the month-end close process, preparing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with GAAP. This individual will serve as a key contributor within the accounting function and partner with cross-functional teams to support strategic business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Analyze financial results and provide insights into variances and trends
• Assist with the preparation of financial statements and management reporting packages
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy of financial records
• Support external audits and provide requested documentation
• Assist with technical accounting research and implementation of accounting standards
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and strengthen controls
• Collaborate with operational and finance teams on special projects and business initiatives
• Mentor and support junior accounting staff as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles
• Experience with month-end close and account reconciliation processes
• Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with ERP systems
• CPA designation or CPA-track preferred
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments
