Job summary

LHH in the Columbia, MD area is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its growing finance team. This hybrid role blends hands-on accounting duties with process improvement and cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced environment.

You will handle monthly close, reconciliations, and financial reporting, while contributing to efficiency gains and audits. A bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of experience are required, with a competitive salary and bonus potential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
• 2+ years of accounting experience required.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and month-end close processes.
• Experience in a fast-paced or growing organization preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP accounting systems.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules for the month-end close process.
• Analyze financial statements and investigate variances across operational accounts.
• Maintain accuracy of the general ledger and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
• Assist with preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages.
• Support operational accounting activities including accruals, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and intercompany transactions.
• Collaborate with internal departments to improve financial processes and reporting efficiency.
• Assist with audit support and provide documentation for external auditors.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives and special projects as assigned.
