Job summary

Stage Front in Columbia, MD is seeking a Senior Accountant (CPA) to join our finance team. This role blends GAAP responsibilities with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and strategic decision support in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.

You will mentor junior staff, support audits and tax filings, ensure revenue recognition accuracy, and partner with Finance leadership on long-range planning and performance analysis.

Qualifications

• CPA designation or active CPA candidate required.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience with GAAP knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Develop financial models and ad hoc analyses to support decisions.
• Lead cross-functional finance and accounting initiatives.
• Prepare management reporting packages and executive presentations.
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes.
• Prepare and analyze journal entries and reconciliations.
• Ensure revenue recognition accuracy and related activities.
• Support audits, tax filings, and compliance.
• Improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting efficiency.
• Partner with Finance leadership on forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning.
• Analyze performance, event profitability, and metrics.

Position Summary

Requirements

• CPA designation or active CPA candidate required.
• Proven ability to develop and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience with increasing responsibility.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and month-end close processes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in ticketing, live entertainment, sports, hospitality, e-commerce, or other high-volume transactional environments.
• Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and management reporting.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and financial reporting tools, including close management and account reconciliation workflows.
• Experience leveraging BI and data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
• Demonstrated interest in FP&A, operational finance, and strategic business partnership.
• Experience working in entrepreneurial, high-growth, or technology-driven organizations.

Skills

• Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling, data analysis, and reporting.
