BrightView is seeking a Senior Accountant to drive monthly close, financial reporting, and analyses. The role partners with internal stakeholders to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance within a dynamic environment.

You will oversee journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation, while contributing to budgeting, forecasting, and tax/compliance tasks in a collaborative setting.

Qualifications

• : Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA license required.
• : 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a public accounting setting.
• : Proficiency in US GAAP and strong internal controls.
• : Experience with automation tools and process improvement.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and review monthly journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations per US GAAP.
• Lead month-end and year-end close, ensuring deadlines are met.
• Prepare financial statements (balance sheet, P&L, cash flow) and assist audits.
• Perform variance analyses and support budgets/forecasts.
• Assist in tax compliance and treasury tasks as needed.

Description du poste

The Senior Accountant is a key contributor to the Corporate Accounting team, responsible for driving the month-end close and reporting processes. This position plays a vital role in maintaining financial integrity, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting strategic financial initiatives for our outpatient addiction treatment setting. In addition, the position provides unique exposure to an active M&A integration environment, offering opportunities to support the integration of acquired businesses, streamline processes, and contribute to the successful transition of newly acquired operations.

ACCOUNTING & FINANCIAL REPORTING

• Prepare and review monthly journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with US GAAP
• Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring the team adheres to deadlines to reach close timelines
• Drive the creation of financial statements, including balance sheet, P&L, and cash flows
• Support financial audits by preparing documentation and liaising with external auditors

FINANCIAL ANALYSIS

• Perform variance analyses and support internal stakeholders in understanding financial performance on a monthly basis
• Collaborate in the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts
• Assist in the creation of weekly cash forecasting, gaining valuable treasury experience in a hands-on environment

TAX COMPLIANCE & STRATEGY

• Support the preparation and filing of tax returns, including sales/use and property taxes
• Ensure timely and accurate tax payments while maintaining compliance with all filing deadlines
• Support tax-related audits or inquiries from government agencies, preparing documentation and responding as needed

INTERNAL CONTROLS & PROCESS IMPROVEMENT

• Maintain strong internal controls over accounting processes and financial reporting
• Identify opportunities for automation with Company tools such as Claude, Alteryx, and Co-Pilot, and increased efficiency in financial operations
• Participate in the implementation and refinement of accounting systems and tools

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Self-starter, willing to take initiative and identify potential solutions to new problems and challenges
• Consistently demonstrates professionalism and gracefully manages conflict, setting an example for staff
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage Intacct, LeaseQuery) and advanced Excel skills.
• Adaptable and agile within a dynamic work environment

EXPERIENCE

• Required
  • 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a public accounting setting

EDUCATION

• Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA license required.
