Job description

Overview

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for general accounting functions for the Behavioral Health Service Line, including processing and preparing accounting data, as well as formulating and analyzing a variety of financial and operational reports. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across teams while ensuring compliance with organizational standards.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8 hours/day (some weekend work may be required during month-end close)

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain direct accounting responsibility for Behavioral Health ledgers, including monthly journal entries, analyses, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations with full supporting documentation.
  • Review and process Accounts Payable transactions, including referral source check requests.
  • Prepare tax work papers, cost reports, and audit documentation.
  • Monitor shared inboxes and respond promptly to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain daily reporting systems with accuracy and consistency.
  • Safeguard privileged and proprietary information against unauthorized disclosure.
  • Adhere to the organization’s Code of Conduct, Mission, and Value Statement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited college or university.

Experience:

  • 3–7 years of experience in financial accounting, finance, or a related field.

Skills & Special Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced knowledge of Excel.
  • Ability to navigate financial and analytical reporting systems.
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret descriptive statistics and examine documents/reports for accuracy.
